I was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. I travelled many times to the UK and Italy until I finally settled in Rome to further my university studies and complete a doctorate in molecular biology. I became a certified English teacher while at university and my English teaching specialty then was Medical English.
Teaching English at all levels and to all age groups has been a fantastic and rewarding experience from the start. The students’ keen interest and enthusiasm for the language has always given me the drive and motivation to share my knowledge with matched enthusiasm. For me, living in Rome has been an amazing learning experience too; with all its ups and downs and happy-go-lucky and at times passionate people!
As someone once said: “Never go anywhere and expect it to be like home.” To me the classroom environment is like a home away from home.
